顧客を敵に回してどうするんだろう
数日前のニュースになってしまうが。
＜資生堂＞ＨＰに「薄毛は子孫も迷惑」 抗議殺到、おわび
問題となったのはホームページの「薄毛レポート」というコーナー。同社によると、新しい発毛促進剤「薬用アデノゲン」の発売に向け、昨年１２月に３０～５９歳の男性１５５０人にネット上で意識調査をした。制作会社がまとめ、４月２１日にホームページに掲載した。
「あなたの親族の中に薄毛はいますか？」の質問については、父親（５５％）、母方の祖父（２８％）、父方の祖父（２３％）のグラフとともに、「薄毛はあなた一人の問題ではありません。子孫も迷惑です」とのタイトルを掲載した。
薄毛の悩みの有無を役職別にまとめたページのタイトルは「薄毛の人は部長止まり？」。薄毛に悩んでいないのは、役員では８１％なのに対し、一般社員（７６％）、派遣社員（７４％）との調査結果を根拠に、「部長、課長、係長に薄毛の悩みが多いのに対し……偉くなるのは薄毛ではない人のようです」と説明した。
同社には「好きで薄毛なわけでない」「薄毛で子孫に迷惑とは、どういう意味か」などの抗議が電話やメールで寄せられたため、１週間後にページを削除。商品紹介のページで「大変不愉快な思いをさせてしまった」とおわびした。
問題の広告については、こちらのまとめサイトに詳しいのだが、あまりにアホらしくて呆れてしまう。
広告としてくだらない以前に、
「薄毛は子孫に迷惑」と言われても、発毛剤の効果で毛が生えたところで、遺伝子レベルで変わるわけでなし（そんなことが可能ならエラいことで、とても薬局やドラッグストアで扱える製品ではなくなる）。この製品を使ったところで、子々孫々の不利益は何も解消されず意味がない。顔立ちに悩んで美容整形手術を受けても、手術結果が子供に遺伝するはずもないのと一緒だ。
「ハゲは何をやっても、ロングスパンで見ればダメ」と言ってしまっているのも同じで、ならば「この製品で自分１世代だけフサフサを取り戻せたところで蟷螂の斧…」となり、購入動機に結びつかないと思うのだが。
また、「上級管理職は薄毛に悩まない」というのも、「薄毛に悩まない」＝「フサフサ」とは限らない。薄くても気にしていないという人も含まれる。どう見ても統計として意味をなしていないのは、中学生でも分かるだろう。
「偉くなるくらいの人は、多少ハゲでも気にしない、気にするヒマなどないのでは」「多くの会社では、役員クラスの人はシルバー世代なので、周りを見てもご同輩が多くなっているので今更悩むほど気にしないのではないか」という考え方もできる。
育毛・発毛剤のターゲットは、もうキちゃってる人・クる前に予防しようと思う人の両方だが、前者はどっちにもアピールする結果になっていない。
まして、より切実に悩み、製品を購入する確率が高い層を馬鹿にするような広告、よくプレゼンを通ったものだと思う。
美容系の広告で、こういう「●●だと××できない、他の人より損をする」という恐怖扇動型のネガティブ広告は今に始まった事ではない。男女問わず、雑誌の後ろのほうなどにひしめいている。
しかし、「包茎だとモテない！」というのとは次元の違う内容だ。
薄毛で悩む人の遺伝子情報だけでなく、親・ご先祖・子供や孫までも否定するとは余計なお世話だ。独身者や子供のない既婚者には、「あんたの子供が不幸になるから、作らないほうがいいよ」と言っているのと同じ。
広告には洒落っ気が必要だとは思うが、明らかにネガティブキャンペーンのやり過ぎであり、発想の時点でバランス感覚が欠けていたとしか思えない。
それ以前に、遺伝的要因がもたらすものは、何も薄毛だけではない。
血友病などの遺伝病は言わずもがな、低視力・低聴力なども遺伝的なものがある。
相方が定期的に悩まされる結石も、家系によるところが大きいようだ。
見た目の問題となればもうキリがない。
私も兄も身長がかなり低いほうだが、これは明らかに父から受け継いだもので、物理的・社会的に不利なことはたくさんある。また、女性では身長が高いこと、足が大きい事で悩む人もいる。
手足が短い・体毛が濃い・デブヤセ（後天的なものもあるが、遺伝的要因も指摘されている）・色黒・顔立ち・乳や性器の大小・クセ毛・剛毛・多毛…列挙に暇がなく、そのほとんどが美容・化粧業界の広告によって日々劣等感を募らされ、商品や施法を買う方向に誘導されているわけだが。
それは何も資生堂だけではない。女性週刊誌の後ろのほうのエステ・美容食品の広告を１０ページも読めば、簡単に「生まれてすみません」「何？死ねばいいの？（byヤスケン）」という気分になれる。
「みっともない」「モテない」と言われればソラその通りだが、これらに一々「子孫に迷惑」「子供生むな」みたいなことまで言われたら、（断種法などに見る）前時代的な消極的優生学の押し付けってもんだと思う。「これなら子孫も安心だ」と太鼓判を押せるのは、「容姿端麗でバランスが良い体つき、ついでに頭も運動神経もおよろしい」選ばれし者だけとなったら、日本の少子化はエラいことになってしまう。大体、もし毛髪や容貌で悩む人間が断種したら、困るのは資生堂ほか化粧・美容業界だ。
第一、外見的の細かい事までいちいち親や先祖を恨んでたら（まあ…あり難い事だとは思わないけど）日常生活やってられん。
まあ要するに、「水虫の人が裸足で家の中歩き回って、家族に水虫うつす迷惑」と同じレベルでハゲを語るのはおかしいだろ（しかもホイチョイな絵で言われると余計に腹立つ）ってことで。
という私も、小学生の頃に「おとうさんについての作文」で
「頭が年々うすくなっています」とか
「アデランスのCMを見るたびに、おかあさんと『つければいいのに』といいます」と書いた鬼娘だった。
父も今ではめっきり落武者だが、母も私も、父をカッコ悪いとは思わず、仕事を勤め上げた人間として尊敬している。少なくとも、この広告に出るような目をして父を見てはいないがなあ…
５０代以降の人間に「頭髪何とかすれば」とは、思わなくなるもんよ。いやホントに。
